Mercury Retrograde And Magic

From today (January 28, 2008) until February 19, 2008, Mercury will be in retrograde. What does this mean to you and to magic? Everything.

Mercury is the planet of communications. When it travels backwards (retrograde), everything via communications; email, spoken word, letters, contracts, computers, phones, faxes gets garbled. What you say or right isn't what other people (including the universe) may hear.

So it is in your best interest to refrain from magic during this time. But if you must cast - make sure your words & actions are very specific - leave nothing open to interpretation.

The Luck Of A Coral

Need some extra luck in your life? Who doesn't now a days? Let coral help you!

Take a piece of coral and touch it to every door, window and wall in the house - starting at the top floor and moving in a clockwise direction. When you are finished, place the coral in a place where it will be seen by all on a daily basis. A fireplace mantel or entertainment center are both good spots. You need a place with traffic and where it will be views by all.

Let the coral do its magic!

You can do this once a year - day and time are not important (although during a new or full moon is a plus), but it is always a good idea NOT to do any spell during a Mercury Retrograde.

Haunted Lilac

Place vases of fresh lilac's throughout a haunted house in order to clear it.

Favor Infusion

Need to secure a favor from someone? Anoint yourself with this favor infusion first before you ask for help.

1. Boil 1 tablespoon of Chicory in 2 cups of water for 3 minutes.
2. Remove from heat and let cool.
3. Strain the infusion.
4. Anoint or spritz yourself with the infused water.
5. Ask your favor:)

PS: This infusion also works great if you are trying to remove obstacles from your path, without asking for a favor.

Stimulating A Psychic Bond With Your Pet

All animals and their humans have a psychic bond. But sometimes us humans cannot quite hear the connection properly.

To strengthen the connection:

For you: Place 3 drops of Mugwort Flower Essence in an 8 oz glass of Spring Water and drink. Do this 2x - 4x a day.

For your pet: Place 6 drops of Mugwort Flower Essence in their bowl of water. Replace when bowl is empty.

When you can feel and understand the connection better with your pet, discontinue use.

Wish Spell

Need: 7 Job's Tears (these are seeds)

Make a wish holding 7 seeds in your projective hand (the hand you write with) and then throwing them into running water.

OR

After you make the wish, carry the seeds with you for a week in a yellow or orange piece of cloth (or sachet).

House Cleansing Incense

When the new year hits - it is always nice to clear out the old energies of the past year in order to invite the new energies of the new year inside.

Combine the following herbs in equal amounts: Lavender, Frankicense, Sandalwood, Cinnamon.

Burn the incense in the room most used - and/or - you can walk through your home with the incense in tow, allowing the smoke to fill each room, starting at the top room and working your way all the down.
